Everything you need to know about ALTA's AI-first B.Tech program
What makes ALTA different from other engineering colleges?
+
ALTA isn't a traditional engineering college — it's built for the AI era. We are India's first AI-first B.Tech program, where learning happens by building, not memorising. From Day 1, you work on real projects, learn from industry practitioners, and apply concepts the same way engineers do in top tech companies. Our classrooms are project labs, our faculty are builders, and our peer group is highly selective — with only 30% admissions to ensure serious, motivated learners.
What does "AI-first" really mean?
+
At ALTA, AI isn't an optional subject — it's the foundation. You don't wait until the final year to "learn AI." You start using real AI tools, APIs, and frameworks from your very first semester.
Which program can I pursue at ALTA?
+
ALTA currently offers a 4-year B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) Program in partnership with leading institutes with an AI-first curriculum designed for careers in deep tech, AI, and software engineering.
Is this a full-time program?
+
Yes. This is a full-time, on-campus degree program. You'll attend classes, work in labs, collaborate with peers, build projects, and engage in hackathons — just like in any top-tier tech institute.
What degree will I receive?
+
You'll receive a UGC-recognised B.Tech degree awarded by the partner university, plus industry-recognised AI certifications from ALTA School of Technology that validate your real-world skills.
Where are ALTA's campuses located?
+
ALTA programs are offered across three AI-powered campuses: Sonipat – IIMT Institute, Pune – ADYPU University, and Indore – Sage University.
Who can apply to ALTA?
+
Anyone with 50%+ marks in Class 10+2 (or equivalent) and PCM background can apply, provided they qualify the ASAT (ALTA Scholastic Aptitude Test).
Do I need coding experience?
+
Not at all. We assume zero coding background and start from fundamentals — slowly building you up to advanced AI and system-level thinking.
What is ASAT?
+
ASAT (ALTA Scholastic Aptitude Test) is an online, proctored aptitude test that checks logical thinking, basic math, and problem-solving mindset. It's not about rote learning — it's about potential.
What happens after ASAT?
+
If you clear ASAT, you're invited for a personal interview where industry experts assess your curiosity, communication, and learning mindset. Selected students receive an offer letter, pay the confirmation fee, and their seat is secured.
Can I apply if my board results are pending?
+
Yes. You can apply now and confirm admission once results are declared (if eligibility is met).
What kind of learning experience can I expect?
+
You'll learn by doing — constantly. Monthly hackathons, real-world AI projects, quarterly demo days, peer collaboration, and industry mentorship. This isn't theory-heavy education. It's portfolio-driven learning.
Will I work with real AI tools?
+
Yes. Across all semesters, you'll work with tools like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT & OpenAI APIs, HuggingFace, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and modern dev frameworks.
Are internships part of the program?
+
Absolutely. Industry-linked projects start from Year 1, paid internships typically happen in Year 3, and final-year students may also pursue 6-month apprenticeships. If a student doesn't land an internship, they're placed on a real industry project with mentorship, so no one misses hands-on exposure.
Placement preparation starts early — from Year 2. Students get resume & portfolio building, mock interviews, coding interview prep, recruiter connects & hiring sprints. Even after graduation, the placement team continues to support you.
What roles can I expect after graduation?
+
ALTA prepares you for AI/ML roles, software engineering, data science, product engineering, and tech consulting. You're trained for skills, not just titles.
What scholarships are available?
+
ALTA offers multiple scholarships including: Merit Scholarship (up to 100%), CodeRise Scholarship (up to 20%), Bright Mind Scholarship (up to 30%)
How do I renew my scholarship each year?
+
To continue your scholarship, maintain 75%+ attendance, score 75%+ or equivalent CGPA, and clear dues on time. Note: Scholarships don't cover hostel/mess fees.
Are education loans or EMIs available?
+
Yes. We partner with IDFC Bank, Axis Bank, and Propelld to offer easy EMI and loan options (subject to eligibility).
